As one of the participants of Calligraphies in Conversation Exhibition 2017, I am really happy to receive a calligraphic art work as a gift from Mr. Arash Shirinbab, organizer of this exhibition. This is my first time to know about Kufic, an old and spiritual Arabic-Persian calligraphy script, which has been shown on Mr. Shirinbab's artwork. When words and letters can be transformed into abstract visual forms that carry the essence of the PoemPainting, that is the Mr. Shirinbab's art statement. With the traditional Persian marbling effect on paper done by maestro Behzad Ghorbani, this is one of the art works I am deeply impressed and inspired.

When people never get tired of watching the movie or the play of "Romeo and Juliet", here is another classic love story example in the east.
"The Peony Pavilion", a play written by a famous playwright in Ming Dynasty, is a classic love story between a daughter of an important official and a young scholar. This love story had been first performed in Kunqu opera and later been adapted into Cantonese opera and even contemporary movie in Asian Pacific region. A theater poster promoting Cantonese opera "The Peony Pavilion" below. The title "The Peony Pavilion" has been designed and written with such romantic and stunning Chinese brush stokes. Christmas is around, I am happy to be able to collorborate with Jo Malone London this year for working on their special Christmas gift tags for their Christmas gift collection this year. Moreover, it was an interesting experience to organize a mini calligraphy workshop for Jaeger-LeCoultre before Christmas.
